My favorite experiences teaching often happen when something catches the group’s attention and we veer off curriculum to explore what came up “accidentally”… so I’m ditching the curriculum altogether!
Here’s an idea of what you might encounter in my improvised improv class:
– simple word games
– memory/association exercises
– pattern creation/recognition exercises
– monologues
– freeform two-person scenes
– prescribed two-person scenes
I like adjusting my teaching style to serve your needs, so I’ll give you the chance to tell me why you’re there and what you want to get out of it. If you want to be the best performer you can be, I’ll advise you on technique and audience psychology; if you’re there just for a fun 90 minutes, I’ll say “great scene” and move on.
Hi, I’m Craig, an improv enthusiast based in Northern California. Most of my experience teaching and coaching improvised comedy since 2014 has been in San Francisco (Endgames Improv, Church of Clown). Since 2020 I’ve had most of my improv practice online, loving the way it connects people around the world.
If you tried online improv and didn’t like it, you might find my class a better fit; my approach is designed to make it as painless as possible.
